This trail mix has a little of everything, but to truly please everyone, you probably have to add chocolate chips and pretzels! You can easily substitute any ingredients that you don’t have by increasing the ones you do have.

Makes: 4 ½ C.

1 C. peanuts (dry roasted optional)
1 C. cashews
½ C. walnuts
½ C. almonds (dry roasted optional)
1/3 C. raisins
1/3 C. cranberries
1/3 C. date pieces or dried apricots, sliced
¼ C. pumpkin seeds
¼ C. sunflower seeds (dry roasted optional)
salt to taste (ground finely in a spice or coffee grinder)


  1. If desired, toast any  nuts or seeds in the oven at 350-400 degree or in a dry skillet until just toasted. Let cool.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Store in an air tight container at room temp or in the refrigerator for optimal freshness.
